Membership Categories
In 2005 the CLAA was restructured into three (3) divisions - the Registry Division, the Llama Division and the Alpaca Division. Each breed division then formed its own organization - Llama Canada and Alpaca Canada. Membership with the CLAA now includes membership with Alpaca Canada and/or Llama Canada.
Categories:
Alpaca (AC) members vote on all alpaca registry matters, receive registry discounts on all alpaca registry transactions and are eligible to participate in the genetic evaluation program - AHEAD.
Llama (LL) members vote on all llama registry matters, receive registry discounts on all llama registry transactions and are eligible to participate in the genetic evaluation program - LEAD.
Alpaca and Llama (AC/LL) members vote on all alpaca and all llama registry matters, receive registry discounts on all alpaca and all llama registry transactions, and are eligible to participate in the genetic evaluation programs – AHEAD and LEAD.
If you own both alpacas and llamas you may opt to be a member of either Alpaca Canada or Llama Canada and still be eligible for registry discounts for both breeds, however you will be limited to voting on registry matters based on which membership category you have chosen.
